About the class

Alignment, Balance & Flow

Cher's teaching blends the precision of the Iyengar tradition with the graceful movement of Hatha and Vinyasa Flow. With a strong focus on alignment and structural balance, this 60-minute class is entirely customisable. Cher meets you exactly where you are on the mat, adjusting the speed, strength, and rhythm of the class to match the energy of the students in the room.

Every session is designed to leave you feeling fully alive, deeply present, and pulsing with fresh energy.

What to expect

Cher's classes follow a thoughtful, intentional sequence to safely open and strengthen the body:

  • Arriving and pranayama. We begin by landing on the mat and centring the mind with the "Breath of Life". You will explore regulating breathwork techniques — such as Nadi Shodhana (alternate nostril breathing for balance), Box Breathing (for relaxation) or Ujjayi (for grounding) — setting a foundation to carry through the rest of your practice.
  • The warm-up. We systematically awaken the joints — neck, shoulders, wrists, hips and ankles — sometimes using straps to assist. Moving through box pose and gentle spinal awareness asanas, we ensure the body is perfectly conditioned and warm before moving into active movement.
  • The vinyasa flow. An integral part of the class where we flow through Sun Salutations, Moon Salutations, or a creative blend of both, tailored to the room's strength and pace.
  • Asana exploration. A varied combination of standing postures, balances, forward folds, backbends, and floor work. Supported headstands may also be explored if the energy and experience of the class allows.
  • Cool-down and savasana. We transition down with slow, relaxing stretches and universal twists to cool the muscles. The practice culminates in a deep savasana — accompanied by guided meditation, ambient music, or the resonant hum of Om — allowing you to fully absorb the restorative benefits of your practice.

Key benefits

  • Precision and alignment. Cultivates joint stability, body awareness, and physical balance.
  • Adaptive flow. Builds functional strength and cardiovascular health at a pace that respects your body.
  • Mental clarity. Soothes the nervous system, reduces stress, and grounds you firmly in the present moment.
